- NSS Occupational Codes:
- 1968 NCO
- 2004 NCO
- Concordance: from 2004 to 1968 (it would be useful to know the concordance from 1968 to 2004 in order to create a more recent categorisation of occupations, but I could not find such a document from NSS)
- I created (in March 2014) this: One Digit Occupation Concordance NCO 1968 2004 There are 7 broad occupational categories that roughly correspond to the 1-Digit Divisions of NCO 2004. Below I have listed the new categories along with the corresponding NCO 2004 Divisions in brackets:
- 1 Administrators, Managers (1 Legislators, Senior Officials and Managers)
- 2 Professionals, Associate Professionals (2 Professionals and 3 Technicians and Associate Professionals)
- 4 Clerks and Related (4 Clerks)
- 5 Sales and Service Workers (5 Service Workers and Shop & Market Sales Workers)
- 6 Skilled Agriculture and Fishery workers (6 Skilled Agricultural and Fishery Workers)
- 7 Craftsmen, Machine Operators (7 Craft and Related Trades Workers and 8 Plant and Machine Operators and Assemblers)
- 9 Labourers, Unskilled Workers (9 Elementary Occupations)
